Hi FMVC
Just a wee note to say how wonderful it was on Saturday to hear the choir sing under the Menin Gate. We had visited Ypres for the weekend and had planned to hear the last post so imagine how wonderful it was to hear the choir as well. To top that, I am Scottish and hearing the bagpipes played also added to the experience. I was moved to tears. Jointly my partner and I lost many family members in WW1 and it’s so heart-warming to know that they are not forgotten for their sacrifice during that terrible tragic war.
Thanks so much to all the members who were there on Saturday and for the conversations we had with a few.
I was in the crowd watching you yesterday evening, overheard ‘Rhythm of Life’ and had to come over. Superb! ‘Bring him home’ was beautiful and full of emotion’ the soloist singing ‘Love changes everything’ was top class and crikey the last note blew me away! From a lowly alto that sings ‘Rhythm of Life’ and ‘Bring him home’ with the Portsmouth Military Wives Choir Wish we could have seen you at Menin Gate unfortunately we had to head back to Calais. Outstanding singing
